Mafia II – Achievement Guide with HD Videos

In Chapter 2 as you leave your house for the first time you will get into a fist fight with a man. At the end of the fight the achievement will unlock.

Missable! In Chapter 2, after you protect your sister you will come to a wife and husband arguing in front of a broken car. This is on the right as you head to Joe’s apartment. Wait for the husband to storm off and then go to the front of the car. A indicator will come up to hit X (in 360) to fix the car. The achievement will pop there. DO NOT fight the man. This will scare the woman and she’ll run off, you have to wait for their fight to end on its own.

The first Playboy is on a coffee table in Joe’s apartment during Chapter 2, Home Sweet Home.

Joe will teach you about lockpicking and you’ll steal your first car. After you evade the cops go to a Body Shop. Change the plate to clean the car and then repair and tune it. The first tune is on Joe.

Mike will ask you to steal him a Walter Coupe. Before you leave drive his pickup and the two other cars into the scrapper. Then run around the far wall and the two extra cars will have respawned. Scrap them and you have the achievement. If the scrapper goes berserk leave the area and then come back.

Mike will ask you to steal him a Walter Coupe. Joe and you will drive there but it’s up to you to get the car yourself. First you have to fist fight a guy, then steal the car. You’ll get shot at and then to either kill them all or lose them in the streets. Then head back to Mike to sell the car and get the achievement.

On your way to Derek’s stop at Vangel’s and buy a Tailored Suit for $90. It won’t show up on the map until you get there. It’s just south of the large park.

In Chapter 3 Derek will ask you to get $10 from 3 workers. You fight the first, the next two give it up. Then you have to fight one final guy. At the end of the fight the achievement will unlock.

Missable! In Chapter 3 after the docks you will be asked to break into the Office of Price Administration. You need to get in and get out without being seen. Why most people will miss this is there is a hidden alarm on the safe. You need to head into the basement flip the alarm switch to disable the alarm. Then you’ll be in the clear. Watch the video for exact locations of everything including 2 Playboys in this mission.

3 – Playboy # 5
4 – The safe
5 – Playboy # 40

Missable! After returning with the stamps you are tasked with selling them. You have to hit 4 of the 6 gas stations. Fan out from where you are and you’ll get it in no problem. Watch the video to see my horrible driving and the path I took.

This one might unlock at any time. I got it near the end of the chapter.

At the end of the mission you will automatically get 4 stars. Kill all but one cop and hide in the alley. The cop won’t come in there. You will need to pop around to keep the 4 star active but it’s really easy.

The Armored Car is even easier but the problem is finding one. You can do the back alley one several times before you even see an armored car timewise.

Missable! As you leave Joe’s apartment at the start of the Chapter his lady friend is being harassed. Go over and beat the harasser up for the achievement.

Could be done in a lot of places but in this mission your path goes through the under pass. Take off Safety Driving and floor it and you’ll launch out the other side and get the achievement.

I’m putting this here because Chapter 13 is the last Chapter that you can sell cars to Derek. Derek only wants high end cars. You’ll start this mission with Luca’s Frigate so that makes 2. (After the mission one in Chapter Drop off the Frigate then go to the small parking lot above the church in the NE. This lot usually contains Kingfishers and Series 75 Hollywoods both of which Derek will take. If the lot only has junk just go down the street and come back. Easy achieve.

You can do this many places I’m sure but I find when you enter the room after the explosion to be the easiest. If you can beat Joe to the execution you can get 2 free headshots right away. Then the next few guys have Tommy Guns so they like to stand out in the open.

This is a story mission so you can’t miss it. You also get $400 out of it for scrap metal. LOL.

Real easy. Cross the way into the bedroom and then go into the closet. Grab the sheets from the basket and a cutscene takes care of the rest.

You can get this at any time I know and Chapter 11 might be too late for most of you but I really like Leo’s car and you get it in this level. Then after tuning it you can get the Pedal to the Medal achievement.

After Tuning Leo’s car to Sports package take that bad boy to the Upper Bridge and floor it. Stick to the middle of the road and you’ll probably hit the speed required right before splatting yourself on the far side.

This is one specific car, not car type. You can check your progress in your garage.

Get on the highway and use Speed Limiter to keep you at 40 and just drive.

I like Gun Shops. There is only ever the owner in there. Play pretty much any chapter you want on easy (Not prison) and pick a nice clumped up area. The time limit is really not an issue. I completely messed around doing it as a planning run and got the achieve. Remember that named stops like Harrys and Freddy’s Bar can not be robbed. Also you can’t rob Body Shops. If you plan out your route you shouldn’t really get much police attention. They really only care if you kill cops. Everything else you can run away from. If you get too much heat just use the phone and call in a quick bribe $500 bribe and clear the heat between the stores. Just watch your time as the call will take 20+ seconds on it’s own.

Copy down the list from the Caropedia and mark them off as you drive them. There are 36 cars per era so you need to find and drive most of them.

I ended Hard with exactly 30 so I don’t know if there are 30 fights in the game or I just got lucky. Fight people on the street and use your finisher when you get the option. Some will cower or run away. Most gangsters won’t fire on you until you pull a gun so punch away.
